Community Hours, YMCA Compensatory Work Program and PAAS-Action Program

IMG section

Community Hours: The Open Door Montreal is known for its flexibility, assisting individuals in fulfilling their community hours by contributing to daily operations based on their strengths and availability. We collaborate with various individuals, including those referred by correctional officers seeking an appropriate and adaptable environment. We aim to support participants of the program not only in completing hours but also addressing other obstacles hindering rehabilitation and social reintegration.

For people interested in completing their community hours with us, please contact our team leads at chefdequipe@opendoortoday.org or 5149391970.

YMCA compensatory Work Program: A partnership with the YMCA provides an opportunity to individuals to pay their fines by doing compensatory work hours. The worker in charge of the community hours program provides supervision and follow-up to help people work off fines they cannot afford to pay.

Please note that a referral from the YMCA is required to be able to join this program.

PAAS-Action program: Through our partnership with Emploi-Québec, we have three positions available in our PAAS-Action program to take on roles such as kitchen help, laundry help or cleaner. This program is designed to provide a flexible 20-hour work week to participants of our services or to people referred by other community organizations to get back into the job market. With support from the program’s facilitator, participants acquire socio-professional skills, and develop management skills and teamwork abilities that help promote a positive work experience. Each participant has weekly follow-ups with the supervisor as well as group workshops to support with their progress.

For those interested in taking part in the program, please contact our team leads at chefdequipe@opendoortoday.org or 5149391970 for more information.
